5.5 - Campaign for Tap Water

If I had a campaign for Tap Water my slogan would be:

"Tap water... it's S.A.F.E. Sufficient And Free Everyday"

Some final thoughts:
Specific bottled water companies like Coco-Cola and Pepsi are known for selling manipulating products. These big money corporations are also major players in the nutrition and dietetics field.
What can we do about these political agendas when it comes to consumer protection and safety?

Our cities should spend money on making sure drinking water is safe and accessible. If we could get additional public fountains, and assured safe drinking water in our cities it would be so much better for the overall health of the population and our environment. I also would love to ban plastic bottles. Similarly how they banned plastic bags. People can buy reusable canteens or sacks.

I also wondered why this video did not recommend filtering systems for tap water? Is the process safe or unsafe? Or is it also contributing to environmental waste production.

  1. Great job on the slogan!! I really like that :) I think banning single use plastic waster bottles is a great idea. There would need to be some alternative for times when there isn't somewhere to fill up your bottle such as when you are at an event or on the road. I've seen flat water sold in cans occasionally - I believe aluminium cans are better for the planet but are they less toxic? Another alternative would be to sell water in glass bottles. I think we really just need to convince people to stop wasting their money on purchasing bottles of water.

    1. I love that slogan! for the most part the (Bay Area) has such clean water compared to other cities and states. I know for sure whenever I go to Las Vegas, it is absolutely the biggest (smallest) change I notice. I wonder if Nevada and other states who struggle with their water filtration systems put high priority on filtering their water and making it more accessible than going to buy bottled water or filtered water systems. I still believe the idea that filters and reverse osmosis is a psychological choice that evokes people to make 'healthier' decisions, unless they can physically taste / feel the change. for example I know for sure if my dog doesn't drink filtered water, her saliva mixes with the oxidation of the chemicals and she goes from having a cream beard, to a copper/ brownish beard at the end of the day. Almost makes me wonder if our skin benefits from diff. water sources too
